This Jyotirlinga is also spontaneous. A true devotee of Mahakal Jyotirlinga is never in danger of death or disease. In fact Mahakal Jyotirlinga is worshiped as a deity as well as the king of Ujjain. Mallikarjun: –
Sreesalam Jyotirlinga is located in the Mallikarjun temple on the banks of Krishna river in Coonoor district of Andhra Pradesh. An entire chapter in the Skanda Purana describes the glory of this Jyotirlinga. There is an ancient story about the Mallikarjun temple according to which Sivagan Nandi did penance here. Pleased with their penance, Lord Shiva and Parvati appeared to them in the form of Mallikarjuna and Brahmarambha. This Jyotirlinga is also described in the Mahabharata. Bhimshankar
Bhimshankar Jyotirlinga is located on the banks of the river Bhamvati near Pune in Maharashtra. The popular story about this Jyotirlinga is as follows. The demon named Tripurasur used to annoy the Sahyadri and the people around him with his demonic powers. To get rid of this demon, Lord Shankara appeared here in the form of Bhimakaya and after defeating Tripurasura in battle, due to the insistence of the devotees, he appeared there in the form of Jyotirlinga. Mahakaleshvar::
The Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. The temple is beautifully described in the works of great poets like Puranas, Mahabharata and Kalidasa. Being spontaneous, glorious and south-facing, Mahakaleshwar Mahadev has a very virtuous significance. It is believed that Moksha can be attained only by seeing this Jyotirlinga.
